Chapter 13 - Household and Social Class Influence

Household and Social Class Influence

by Lidia Alcantara

The people you surround yourself with, have more influence on your decisions than you may think. If you really think about it, you might even look up to these people and try to follow their ways of life. In recent years the nontraditional household has increased, now you have families and unrelated people living under the same roof.
Some of the reasons that this occurs are

1. later marriages and cohabitation
2. dual-career families
3. divorces
4. smaller families, and
5. same-sex and transgender households

We can all agree that each member of the household holds a specific role when having to make a decision. From an influencer to a buyer or a user, each person takes action when it comes to deciding on a service or product that the household id interested in purchasing.
When it comes to buying a car, for most people it is not the fastest simplest decision to pick one.
You have to take into consideration why you're thinking of purchasing, what exactly do you want to get out of this purchase. When you think of Audi you think expensive and luxury. When you want to buy an Audi, it really is out of influence; you see famous people driving them, you see the respect that people give to those who drive an Audi. If you drive an Audi then people will know that you definitely have money, that you're with the upper class because Audi is not a cheap car. This car brand has made sure to keep its reputation of the car you need to have if you want to be important.
